Success Stories

As manager of the United Shippers Alliance, IMPEX Logistics has helped hundreds of shippers improve their ocean and LTL transportation programs by lowering costs, improving service and increasing carrier options. Here are a few examples:

franklininternational

Franklin International is among the largest privately held manufacturers of adhesives and sealants in the United States, distributing its products to customers in over 60 countries on six continents around the globe. Given its tight margins, diverse supply chain and worldwide customer base, transportation and logistics are a very strategic part of Franklin’s business model. Recognizing this fact, Franklin International became one of the founding members of the United Shippers Alliance (“USA”) back in 1994. Franklin actively uses both the USA’s LTL and Ocean Transportation Programs. In doing so, Franklin is able to drive down its operating costs using highly competitive USA LTL and ocean container rates. In addition, Franklin is also able to ensure uninterrupted, time-sensitive delivery to both its U.S. customers and its customers around the globe because the USA provides multiple carrier options for Franklin to use in every one of its major trade lanes.

Plaskolite-Logo_large

Plaskolite, Inc. is a leading provider of innovative acrylic products and solutions. Plaskolite continues to expand through a combination of organic growth and company acquisition. With its numerous U.S. manufacturing and distribution facilities and diverse customer base, Plaskolite has a very complex domestic supply chain, making LTL transportation a very important function to manage from both a cost and service perspective. Plaskolite uses a combination of its own, direct LTL carrier contracts and those offered by the United Shipper’s Alliance to meet its stringent LTL service demands while protecting its gross margin with competitive rates. By combining its own purchasing leverage with that of the USA’s and its hundreds of members, Plaskolite is able to provide multiple carrier options in nearly every transportation lane while benefiting from extremely competitive LTL rates.

mitsubishi

Mitsubishi International Food Ingredients, Inc. is a leading supplier of functional ingredients for the food, beverage and nutritional industries in North America as well as other global markets. Its global customer base combined with its supply relationships with many global food and nutraceutical ingredient producers represents a complex, global supply chain. The United Shipper’s Alliance helps Mitsubishi connect its global logistics network with price competitive, service sensitive ocean container contracts with leading steamship companies. Mitsubishi relies heavily on USA’s staff to manage nearly all aspects of their ocean contracts and amendments.
